Course History

Combining a Modern Golf Experience with a Historic Course

With over 100 years under our belt, Twin Lakes Country Club is focused on providing even better experiences in our second century.

Established in 1912, TLCC was known as Commodore Barry Country Club. At it's opening, the property extended all the way to Lake Mary before housing developments moved in.

Our course architect, Leonard Macomber – designed several courses in this region. Mr. Macomber designed in the “Golden Age” of golf course architecture, when the characteristics you find here at Twin Lakes were the norm and not the exception. When fairways weren’t designed like freeways and greens were a true test of your short game. We thank him for leaving us this living, breathing legacy to the game “the way it was meant to be played.”

As time has moved on, we have focused on making changes that preserve the historic feeling behind the course "feel".

The idea behind the feel has been our calling card for generations and something we continue to be known for:

  • A golf course with exceptional, challenging small greens is still the backbone of traditional golf and provides common ground for golfers of all skills and abilities.

  • The Red Barn clubhouse and restaurant, our gathering point, was at one point an actual barn. The area has progressed to be known for it's gorgeous weddings events, organized event planning and outstanding food. The events here have become as recognized as the course itself.

Harry Singh and his wife, Gurpinder Kaur purchased the course from the Cantwell family in the Spring of 2024. The Cantwell family had owned the course since 1982. Singh and Kaur hold the same values that have held the Twin Lakes experience together since opening. A dedication to high-quality guest experience at an affordable price and a commitment to providing every guest with a "family" experience.

We’re extremely proud of our Junior Golf Program, at over 150 members strong. The focal point of the program is a six-week instructional academy. Juniors at TLCC learn proper swing technique, rules, and etiquette, while playing the game of a lifetime.

With such a unique history already, we are very excited to see where the future of golf and our course will take your experience.
